Life boards

Bupa Lifeboards

When you move into a Bupa Care home we make it our mission to get to know you. We want to know about your family and friends, your interests and hobbies, your likes and dislikes. We also want to know about your background and your experiences and how they have shaped the person you are today.

Put simply, we want to celebrate everything that makes you, you.

Your story is important to us

Experience tells us that the best way to get to know you is to create a picture of your life's story that covers everything from family photographs through to favourite things such as music and the footy team you support. We call this picture of your life your life board.

What is a life board?

A life board is a visual display of your life. We hang it on the wall in your room as a record of all the parts that make up your life. Life boards help us get to know you as well as being a good conversation starter so we can get to know you even better.

No two life boards are the same

We're all different so it stands to reason that every life board will be unique.

If you used to be a teacher for example, you might like to use blackboard paint for the background. Or if you're fiercely Scottish, perhaps you'll choose to use your clan tartan.

Of course, the finished life board is only half the enjoyment.

The journey of creating a life board is an important and fulfilling activity to enjoy during the early days of adjustment into an aged care home, and something you, your family and friends and Bupa Care staff can all take part in.

"Our family feels like part of your family at Bupa Greenacre."

"A big thankyou to the staff at Wodonga for the care and attention given to my mother."
