We pride ourselves on providing a fresh seasonal menu and a choice of cuisine at every meal with the help of our dietician. We value your input, and strive to make sure that your preferences are reflected in our menus as much as possible. We hold regular focus groups to make sure that what you want is on our menus.
Do you enjoy cooking? Then why not get involved in our delightful cooking classes - our baking afternoons are popular with residents! And the best part is that you get to eat all the yummy cakes at the end. Our Happy Hour evenings are also a favourite; it’s a chance to socialise with each other, family and friends over drinks and nibbles.
We welcome your friends and family at any time, giving you and your loved ones flexibility and peace of mind that they can pop by to visit you whenever they’d like.
If you have grandchildren, or even great grandchildren, who would like to visit there is plenty here to keep them entertained. We have little chairs and tables with lots of toys and games for them to enjoy.
Family members can also receive a quarterly newsletter. This is filled with fun information on residents and our team as well as updates on events around the home, to help you and your loved ones stay connected with the home and each other.
At Bupa Eastwood, you can continue to be a part of the local area. We take every opportunity to get involved in the community; with our own Bupa bus you can enjoy outings up to four times a week to some of our favourite locations.
We also have volunteers who come to our home. They bring entertainment, activities and a lot of laughs. U3A visits to engage with our residents for activities, Local school children visit to take part in crafts, games, singing and dancing. They have a program called “caring for our community” and engage with the residents in the home to offer social and community support and have the opportunity to make friends of different ages.
Moving into a care home is a big decision and it’s important to make sure you choose the payment option that suits you best. Your costs may vary according to your financial situation and we advise you to seek independent financial advice before entering an aged care home to help you choose the right payment option for you.
To help ensure that care is affordable for everyone, the Australian Government calculates and regulates maximum daily fees and enforces limits as to how much you can be asked to pay for accommodation.
Your fees for aged care cover both the care you receive and your accommodation, and sometimes, extra services.
Your care fees cover daily living costs such as nursing care, housekeeping and meals. They are paid, in part, by all residents and are determined by the Department of Social Services.
For residents entering care after July 1 2014, you can choose from three simple ways to pay for your accommodation.
These options allow for more flexibility on how you pay for accommodation and are designed to be fairer for everyone.
You can visit the web page of your chosen care home on the Bupa Aged Care website and click on the “Accommodation” tab.
Some aged care homes offer a higher standard of accommodation, food and service in return for a daily fee. Whether you are in an Extra Service home or not, the quality of your care remains the same.
For people who need regular assistance with most daily activities
