Our pleasant care home is set in the foothills of the Dandenong Ranges. Set in a beautiful location, not far from Melbourne and close to Lysterfield Lake and Wilson Botanical Gardens. Our onsite parking makes it easy for loved ones to visit.
If you enjoy being outdoors, our landscaped gardens with gazebos are the ideal places to spend time with friends and family. We have covered courtyards with a BBQ area that are always popular for entertaining. If you have a green thumb, you can enjoy pottering in our veggie patch and raised garden beds. We even have a working shed in the garden for tinkering in.
Meanwhile indoors, we have a delightful range of well-equipped communal areas, including:
When it comes to aged care, we understand that one size doesn’t fit all. That’s why we take the time to get to know you, so we can tailor your care to help support you in the way that you prefer.
You can be confident that we’ll be there for you when you need us with access to a registered nurse 24 hours a day and an easy-to-use nurse call system.
Our role isn’t just to care for you when you’re sick but also to help you stay healthy. Our physio area has an exercise bike, walking bar and some light weights, making it the great place in our home for our small group exercise sessions.
At Bupa Berwick, we value the experience of passionate registered nurses and carers who are committed to providing the care you need, in the way you want.
Specialised Dementia Care
At Bupa Berwick we can provide care to suit your needs at one of our two resident communities, each caring for 60 people. We also have a resident community for people living with dementia. We offer private rooms with ensuites, as well as a small number of larger companion rooms if you are joining us with your partner, or would prefer to share. While our rooms have quality furnishings, we encourage you to bring in personal items you’ve collected throughout your life to help you feel at home.

We offer so many different activities at Bupa Berwick that you could even pick up new hobbies! Some activities that you will have the opportunity to get involved with are:
Art classes are a favourite amongst residents. Recently, we held an art exhibition that brought visitors from the whole community into our home. Residents loved the chance to show off some of their works of art and many of the residents’ drawings are proudly displayed along the hallway for all to enjoy.
We also regularly hold themed days where our home is transformed into something special. Our Rock’n’Roll theme was a particular hit – especially when our General Manager brought his Harley-Davidson motorbike to Bupa Berwick!
If you’re passionate about food, then you’ll enjoy our freshly prepared seasonal menus. Start your day with choice and variety with a buffet breakfast - from cereals to hot food meals. A choice of cuisine is provided at every meal and you will always have the options of dining in the communal dining room or in the privacy of your own room. We value your input into our menus and hold regular surveys regarding meals and taste-test groups, to help make sure that our menus cater to your tastes.
We know how important keeping in touch with your family is. We welcome your friends and family at any time, giving you and your loved ones flexibility and peace of mind that they can pop by to visit you whenever they’d like.
Some people who stay with us have family members that live far away, perhaps in another country. Our Carers Link program, involves our team volunteering their own time to visit residents who don’t have regular visitors.
Family members can also receive a monthly newsletter called the ‘Bupa Gazette’. This is filled with fun information on residents, our team and updates on events around the home, which helps you and your loved ones stay connected with the home and each other.
At Bupa Berwick, you can continue to be a part of the local community. We enjoy close links with the community and with access to a Bupa bus, take regular outings to favourite locations in the local area, including:
We strive to run a broad program of events, so that there is something for everyone. As well as trips outside the home, we encourage the local community to join our residents in the home.
Moving into a care home is a big decision and it’s important to make sure you choose the payment option that suits you best. Your costs may vary according to your financial situation and we advise you to seek independent financial advice before entering an aged care home to help you choose the right payment option for you.
To help ensure that care is affordable for everyone, the Australian Government calculates and regulates maximum daily fees and enforces limits as to how much you can be asked to pay for accommodation.
Your fees for aged care cover both the care you receive and your accommodation, and sometimes, extra services.
Your care fees cover daily living costs such as nursing care, housekeeping and meals. They are paid, in part, by all residents and are determined by the Department of Social Services.
